Oh this boy! About 2 1/2 weeks ago Camden was riding on Elek's back. They were having so much fun - giggling and being silly. I heard a big thud. Wait for it...little cries...not bad...hysterical cries! I go in and pick him up. There was blood smeared across his eye brow and forehead. It looked okay it was thin and already drying. Camden kept crying and holding his mouth. There was a little spot of blood under his lip above his chin. It was deep red, not too bad. Then Camden started choking. When Camden fell his face/lip area landed on the sippy cup and his teeth went straight through his lip. All the blood was going into his mouth. Elek was starting to panic because of all the blood and crying. I was trying to keep everyone from freaking out. Elek started to copy what I was saying to Camden in a sweet little voice.
After finding out about the new insurance and dropping off the other boys we were headed south with all the other Friday night traffic. (the ped doctor wouldn't even look at him..What?) We finally get to this very run down area and the office closed 30min earlier. What to do... Camden's mouth had stopped bleeding and was oozing through the front. We decided to go home and come back in the morning.
When we got there we were the only ones there. Great no wait. The doctor came in (didn't wash his hands) and went to open the babies mouth! Yuck!! Because we had walked through the place and it was small I know there was no sink where he was - I couldn't believe he was going to stick his dirty hands in my babies mouth that was cut all the way through. I jumped up and opened Camden's mouth for the doctor. I was less then impressed when the doctor then says, "It no bleed. Baby fine. You no see it in end of week. Baby no cry." What!!! I was glad to hear he didn't need stitches, however unsure if I could trust his opinion.
Since this lip splitting experience Camden has hit his head on everything. He has re split his lips three times(maybe stitches would have been a good idea). I was thinking on Monday maybe he was getting past all the injuries - his other bumps and cuts have scabbed up and are disappearing/healing.
That leads us to today. Camden was playing in a toy area. What could he possible do? Camden climbed up onto a padded hassock/chest thing. Suddenly he is screaming. The 2ft wooden framed picture fell off the wall and on his head! This kid is a magnet for disaster! The picture hit Camden so hard his head actually pushed out the little prongs that hold the glass and picture in the frame. I'm so grateful the glass did not shatter or break. Maybe now Camden's bad luck will change.
